About the Recession PDF Print E-mail
Written by Edina Nasseri

In order to accommodate more staff needed at our office. AND bearing in mind the fact that with the economic crisis, we don't have that much budget to play around with spending on some extra tables and chairs...

Yes, management has decided to improvise and make do with what is available! I am wondering if this will in any way effect our productivity. Having to stare into someone's bum for 8 to 9 hours will indeed keep my eyes permanently plastered on the work at hand.

Yes, we are going to have to go back to only using 1 paper cup per working day for our tea and coffee. And soon, we will have to bring our own mugs from home (as soon as the paper cups in the pantry run out!). We will also need to use 1 coffee bag for the entire day. Which means that as our strength wanes towards the end of each work day, this will be reflected in how diluted our coffees gradually become.

Bear Hug On Call PDF Print E-mail

There is just no other word to describe this jacket other than ‘awesome’.

Parents should buy it for all their kids because it's just so cool. I wouldn't mind wearing it to work once in a while either. To break the monotony of things and to put a boot in the whole 'work' mentality! I mean work is good but life shouldn't be taken too seriously either.

Talk about individualism, this one fits right in there. Plus if you have issues of loneliness, I'm sure a self hug with this on will kiss all the blues away.

Super! Is all I can say. If I had kids, this one would be a staple. Perhaps for Mondays just to start the week off on the right note.

For more information check out Sebastian Errazuriz at: http://www.meetsebastian.com/. He designed the jacket, by the way. He has some other cool looking things up on the website so be sure to check them out too. It's guarenteed to put a smile on your face.

Ain't Nothing More Scary than Clowns PDF Print E-mail

I wonder why clowns freak me out so much! Could be my having watched It at such an impressionable age. But pictures like these don’t help either. They just strengthen my fears that clowns are actually mad lunatics hiding their passion for gore and blood under painted faces and colourful suits. Plus all the movies out there along the theme of ‘Clowns Gone Ballistic’...!

It’s clinically known as coulrophobia which means an abnormal or irrational fear of clowns. Apparently I’m not the only one who has a thing against Bubbles, Pennywise (shudder) and their posse from hell either. In fact, it is one of the top 10 most common fears.

This particular photo comes from the 1949 Cushman Archives.

Amazing Cats PDF Print E-mail

Meet Joe Black? Heck no, now it’s Meet Oscar Cat! This ball of feline fur has a knack for predicting when Death will come a-knocking. He’s so exact that when he curls up beside a sickly resident at the nursing home he lives at, nurses immediately call family members and inform them they have about 4 hours. Apparently he has predicted 25 deaths already and he’s only 2 years old. He spends his days patrolling the corridors and sniffing and checking out patients.

Check out more amazing animals at: http://webecoist.com/2009/01/12/strange-funny-celebrity-cats/

Need more? Well listen to the tale of Libby the seeing-eye cat. Libby, a 7 year old ginger cat, actually acts as the eyes and ears for Cashew, a 14 year old deaf and blind Labrador dog. The two of them are the best of friends and inseparable (although they are separated only when Libby is taken out for walks with her owner). Every night, Libby will sleep next to Cashew and in the day time, Libby leads Cashew to food and drink and even keeps Cashew from bumping into obstacles. No one taught Libby to do what she is doing! Amazing what animals will do for one another, even across species’. Makes you wonder what type of animal man is when we refuse to work with one another for mutual benefit!

Super Alarm Clock PDF Print E-mail
Written by Edina Nasseri
Wednesday, 14 January 2009

Having trouble waking up in the morning? Well other than keeping a rooster in the room with you, you could try out the Danger Bomb Clock Alarm. AS you can imagine, this one will definitely get you up.

What’s really cool is that in order to stop the alarm (bear in mind this would be at about 5:30 am or 6:00 am!), you need to key in one code out of three. Think that’s easy? Well, think again because the codes are reset every day.

Or you could chuck it out the window or smash it on someone’s head (look for the person who gifted it to you).

Sold here: http://www.geekstuff4u.com/gadgets/xmas/danger-bomb-clock.html at about $35.00

He Wants It Back PDF Print E-mail

When divorces get messy, they get really messy! But I’ll bet this one will stay in the record books for some time yet.

According to new sources (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28547971/), a doctor in the New York State wants the kidney he donated to his ailing wife back. He claims that she started having an affair soon after receiving it. Distraught and weighing a little less, the doctor said, “...We were in a million-dollar home, I was a full-time surgeon, full-time father and a dedicated husband. And I saved her life, and there’s nothing bad about what I did, I’d do it again. But the pain is unbearable...” Yeah I’ll bet it was/is. The silver lining, doctor will settle for $1.5 million.

Busy On Jury Duty PDF Print E-mail

During the court scenes of crime dramas such as Law and Order, I see the odd juror doodling something and I always wonder what they could be jotting down. Yes, I know it’s make belief for television but still, you get to wondering what could be more important than listening to the testimony of someone who’s entire life you hold the key (or apart of the key) to.

So let’s browse through The American Gallery of Juror Art (http://jurylaw.typepad.com/photos/juror_art/elizabeth_perry.html) and be amazed at what those jurors are really up to diddling on their laps. Some of the sketches featured (although there are a few photographs too) are quite beautiful. Let’s hope that when it came to deliberation time, these jurors had their full attention on the matter at hand.
