If you have submitted to the SIGGRAPH Computer Animation Festival in the past, you already know how great it is to have your work screened in one of the SIGGRAPH theaters. Next year, you’re bound to notice an exciting evolution in both SIGGRAPH and the Computer Animation Festival.

Here’s the whole story: Complete the online submission form by January 30, 2008. Upload all content for the jury screenings by February 27, 2008.

The Showcase Screenings
Pieces are curated from both solicited and unsolicited entries. Screenings may follow a theme, and will be of special interest. Screenings may be of a short or full-length nature.

Festival Conversations.
Panels, talks, interviews related to computer generated animation.

Awards
In addition to jury-selected awards, the Computer Animation Festival is introducing the Audience Award. This award will encourage the audience to participate in the festival. There will be a daily favourite, and, at the end of the Festival, an award will be presented to the piece with the highest number of votes.

The Computer Animation Festival features work in all categories of computer-generated animation from all corners of the world. If you are a Flash animator, a visual-effects artist, a game designer, a scientist, an artist, a student embarking on your first animated short, or anyone who is advancing the state of the art of computer-generated animation.
Send in your ideas for panels, round-table discussions, and conversations surrounding such issues as marketing, behind-the-scenes developments, production-related art, retrospectives, and anything else you can think of in the animation realm related to:
* Scientific visualization and research
* Narrative shorts
* Visual effects sequences
* Visual effects research
* Student animation
* Combined animation techniques (2D, 3D, Flash, etc.)
* Real-time visuals
* Promotional animation (commercials, PSAs, etc.)
* Machinima and other emerging techniques
* Animation retrospectives, documentaries, and related projects
* Works in progress
