New Cancer Treatment Could Bring Relief PDF Print E-mail
Written by Edina Nasseri

When you think about cancer treatment, you think about chemotherapy. But Phillips may soon be changing all that with their Micro Bubbles.

This is a new drug delivery system which uses ultrasound technology. The ultrasound locates the cancerous cells and the Micro Bubbles are dispatched to that location in the body. Drugs to eliminate the cancer is then released from the bubbles. This would reduce the side effects caused by chemotherapy as the strong drugs only attack the cancer rather than affecting the entire body. Currently, if this comes into being, Phillips claims that this would make cancer treatment less invasive.
