Ghetto Cool for Bad Financial Times - CupSpeakers PDF Print E-mail
Written by Edina Nasseri

My father was looking around for a set of portable IPod speakers which were also affordable.

It just so happened that I stumbled across this article about the CupSpeakers created by Dmitry Zagga. I just love its simplistic feel and the fact that there is no electronics involved in the whole set up. Pretty cool, isn’t it.

The system features your humble paper cup, some toothpicks and a set of IPod earphones. The earphones go through the base of the cup which is horizontal (see picture).  You may be asking, “…but how…” Of course the sound won’t be comparable to ‘proper’ speakers but Zagga claims that the sound increase is measurable. Must be due to the shape of the paper cups.

Anyone having some free time and extra paper cups should try this one out.
