Christopher Greenslate, 28, and Kerri Leonard, 29, are experimenting if they can survive on $1 dollar of food a day for a whole month. Their progress and stories can be followed on their blog at: http://onedollardietproject.wordpress.com/.
It seems like an interesting experiment. The rules are simple, both high school social studies teachers have to:
1. Only consume food that totals $1 each day for each one of them.
2. Not accept free food or donated food unless it is available to everyone (example, foraging, samples in stores, dumpster diving, etc).
3. Any food that they plant, they pay for.
4. Do their best to cook a variety of meals.
5. Should they decide to have guests over during mealtimes they must eat from the couples share. Which means that meaning guests don’t get to eat their own dollar’s worth of food.
Hmm, I don’t think they’ll be having any guests over during that time!
