Really Vintage Levi's

Recently my father bought himself a pair of vintage Levi’s jeans. But I doubt the pair he purchased is over 100 years old!

As is probably common knowledge by now, Levi’s jeans started out as the staple outfit of American miners in and around the late 1800’s. They were valuable because of their durability and ability to withstand a lot of wear and tear. It wasn’t much different for the miners in the Rand Mining District on the Mojave Desert in California either. And that’s where this old pair was found together with an old paper bag which was found to belong to a mercantile store which operated between 1895 and 1898 in Ransburg. The other item of interest was a gunny sack with the initials A.P.K printed on it. The logical guess is that A.P.K stands for Adam P. Kuffel who was a partner in the aforementioned store.

So if you’re interested in purchasing the worn out jeans, head over to the eBay auction site where the bidding has already gone over $15,000. The size is waist 34 and length 33. if you do buy it, I’d recommend washing it before wearing because the jeans are covered with splatters of candle wax from the candle the miner used to light his way through the mines. Other than that, I think we can assume the jeans have a stone washed look to it.

PS: I JUST CHECKED AND BIDDING HAS ENDED. THE WINNING BID FOR THE JEANS WAS $36,099.00!
